It has been a busy past few weeks...I attended my first set of ESU PDO meetings in mid-September, and I have done more trainings with teachers at various schools. It never fails to amaze me that I always learn as much as the teachers (hopefully) learn from me on those days. They always ask great questions and sometimes I have the answers, and other times I do not. I don't feel embarrassed or guilty for not knowing an answer, but rather, I treat it as a learning opportunity. Anytime I can learn something new I get a great sense of fulfillment, because I am still a teacher at heart and this is one of the variables that I have always enjoyed about teaching!
This is really what technology integration is about: teaching and learning! Devices and platforms are simply novelties unless they are accompanied by effective instruction and curriculum. The best app is still the teacher, and they have the power to leverage technology to engage students and enhance their learning.
In the spirit of this, I would like to remind folks about our upcoming ESU 4 Technology Integration Group (TIG) meeting on October 17, 2017 from 9:00a.m.-3:00p.m. at the ESU 4 Main Office. If you have not yet registered, please do so, as spots are filling up quickly! All of our workshops are on the ESU 4 registration page . Below is a copy of the flyer that was emailed out to schools earlier in the week. Please email me if you have any questions. See you on October 17!
